Welcome to my practice.
I believe that the most effective mental health treatment occurs within a collaborative and trusting relationship.
In my work, I strive to foster an environment in which my patients and I are able to examine their unique histories and come to better understand their subjective experiences in the world. By encouraging open exploration of thoughts and feelings without fear of judgment, I help my patients clarify their goals, improve their relationships, and cultivate greater self-awareness, empathy, and resilience in their daily lives.
ABOUT ME
I am a board certified adult psychiatrist and psychodynamic psychotherapist licensed to practice in New York, New Jersey, and Connecticut. I work with adult patients across the lifespan including in later life, combining individual psychotherapy with medication management as needed for comprehensive mental health treatment. I specialize in mood disorders including depression and bipolar disorders, anxiety disorders, ADHD, and neurocognitive disorders, and have a particular interest in treating patients who have experienced relational and intergenerational trauma.
In addition to seeing patients in my private practice, I am a geriatric psychiatrist at the Manhattan VA Medical Center and a Clinical Assistant Professor in the NYU Grossman School of Medicine's Department of Psychiatry, where I supervise and direct the geriatric psychiatry curriculum for residents.
